Discourse on the digital often results in a rhetoric of rupture and revolution tied to technological determinism, according to which technical developments quasi-mechanically determine cultural changes. It is therefore indispensable that we, in the framework of our research, avoid this rhetoric and consider digital characteristics by reflecting on cultural continuity.
