Cédric Kayser is a Ph.D candidate in French Literature at the University of Montréal. After having studied the topic of crisis in the works of Huysmans, he obtained his Master's in Philosophy at the Paris IV University with a thesis on the phenomenological basis of In Search of Lost Time. Following this, he studied philosophy in Paris and completed a Master’s in Modern and Contemporary European Philosophy in Luxembourg, with a thesis on the reception of Schelling's Naturphilosophie in Merleau-Ponty’s pre-reflexive phenomenology. Aside from his academic life, he pursues a musical career by composing theatre, films and museum exhibitions.
His Ph.D project continues his previous research focus, as he analyzes the relations between the body's limits and the way technical devices affect seeing the subject.
