In Memoriam
--
Born in Venezuela, Daniel currently lives and works from Portugal. As a graduate in Theater, he has also developed skills in the fields of Video Editing, Media, Performance Art and Networked Performance. He is an independent artist and researcher, with work oscillating between video experimentation and how it transforms the perception of the self through different techniques, by investigating the tension between human and machine through embodied practice on collaborative projects, in either remote or physically present states. Since 2011, his work has increasingly focused on the Internet as a medium and video as a format of mediating communication and emulating presence. Although video itself and the editing process are essential tools for operating and producing video works that fall within categories such as video and queer art, it also serves an essential purpose that is to have the “camera” as a spectator of actions.
This Artist in Residence was made possible thanks to the support of “Fundação GDA - Gabinete dos Direitos dos Artistas", Portugal.
