Focus group "Les formats d'écriture comme interfaces entre supports et genres de discours" (Writing Formats as Interfaces Between Supports and Discourse Genres)

The objective of this focus group is to question the notion of format, understood as a dimension of stabilisation between writing support, textual composition and discourse type.

The morning session will focus on short texts – regulatory and instructional signs in the public space, commemorative plaques – or long texts – scientific reports – and will look at the way in which medium and discourse type constrain format when it comes to structure and content. The afternoon will be devoted to digital writing formats. In particular, we will observe the transformations that a format undergoes when moving from one medium to another, the constraints imposed by the devices, and the values conveyed by the different formats of digital writing.
